2. Question: Do I have to complete the full 500-mile trip?
Answer: No, you don’t have to complete the 500-mile ride EXCEPT if you want the additional choice of receiving certification from Long Distance Riders. The completed stamped site map page will be yours to keep if you choose not to complete the certification component. This documentation is only needed for the LDR certification.
3. Question: How do I qualify to receive certification from Long Distance Riders?
Answer: Download an additional certification form from HERE. After you completed the 500-mile ride, send in your site location stamped page form that you will receive the day of the ride at your chosen starting point, along with your certification fee of $35. The completed site location stamped page will be all the documentation you will need to qualify, since it will be stamped at each location as proof that you rode the distance. Your 500-mile Easy Rider designation will be mailed to you within 7 to 10 days after the ride. Special Note: You must complete the ride in 12 hours or less to qualify.
4. Question: What do I do the day of the ride?
Answer: Report to your starting location shortly before 7:00 am the day of the ride. There will be a sign up table where you will receive your Special Olympics Torch Run T-Shirt, your site location map, a goodie bag, and your Long Distance Riders Decal. You will get your site location map stamped by our representatives at the site to prove you started at that location. Kickstands up at 7:00 am, and proceed to the next stop on the ride as shown on the site location map page. As you stop at each of the four locations, you will get your page stamped at each location. Be sure to get your last stop stamped, which will be the point where you started the ride. This will show that you started and finished at your chosen location. Special Note: For those who plan on starting and ending at the Tallahassee location, a party will be held at K&K Fish Camp to celebrate your ride. Entertainment provided.
